Mastering Classical Techniques in Figure Drawing and Painting

While studying at UCSC, I had the privilege of working with renowned artists from the New York Academy of Art and local masters trained in classical figure drawing and painting. It was through this experience that I discovered my deep passion for the timeless techniques passed down through centuries.

Fragmented Farewell

Summer 2024

Acrylic on canvas, 40.6 cm x 50.8 cm

Completed during a summer figure painting course, this piece explores classical techniques of painting from life. Through the use of acrylic and slow-dry medium, the artwork portrays the bittersweet moment of departure. The figure, marked by cracks and fragmentation, represents the slow unraveling of time and memory as she drifts into an uncertain horizon. Muted earth tones and a minimal background evoke a contemplative atmosphere, reflecting on the fragility of human connections and the quiet tension of loss.
